Sometimes kids have difficulties with praxis. Praxis is the neurological process by which cognition directs motor action. It involves planning what to do and how to do it. A child that has difficulty with praxis may have trouble with printing. I like to use a multi-modal approach to teaching praxis. For a kinesthetic learner, playdoh is a great strategy for making letters. Repeat making long lined letters such as L, I, T,  and H out of playdoh. Long lined letters are considered easy letters because they correlate with vertical lines. Have your child make the letters out of playdoh and then practice writing them on paper.
